Sharing stories with employees to cultivate work -life balance & Empower APP Leaders

The Art of Work Life Balance: A New Parent’s Perspective

1 hour talk

At the same time I was starting a family, I was promoted to a leadership role managing more than 100 Advanced Practice Providers working in Cardiovascular Health. I would be working as the Director of Advanced Practice at a US News and World Report Top 10 Healthcare Institution. I was overwhelmed; often I doubted I could manage the stress; at times I thought the only solution was to throw in the towel and return to a non leadership position.  But ultimately I decided to leverage the shift into parenthood as a catalyst for creating sustainable change. The techniques I learned and built as a foundation for my daily work allowed me to become a more effective Director, and bring insane satisfaction to my life outside of work. My passion now is to share the techniques I have learned to cultivate work- life balance for employees across the nation and in all industries.

If you want a talk telling you the perfect schedule to follow to achieve your goals, or how to rest up so you can work harder, I am not the person for you. But if what you want is a fresh take from a real woman, with small children, a busy professional life, working hard to have it all while still sleeping 8 hours a night and doing the things she loves- both in the office and at home, then I’d love to talk with you. Reach out today: I know how much your employees will tell you it meant to them!

What the Audience is Saying:

Such a phenomenal & timely lecture Megan. Thank you for candidly sharing your experience, insights, and valuable lessons! I downloaded Headspace!

-Monica N. from Stanford Healthcare

This is a sincere thank you for your presentation on work/life balance in the context of a new parent. I have a 3 year old and 1 year old at home and your presentation was so helpful. Truthfully, it meant a lot just to have the topic addressed so transparently. As both a young parent and a young Nurse Practitioner, it has certainly been challenging navigating work/life balance.  I think the most important concrete take away was your advice to engage in meditation. This is something I have been actively working on since your talk, and I can see the difference it is making.

-Sarah H. from Stanford Children’s health

Megan is truly a REALLY great Director! Thank you for sharing your "secrets".

-Ani B. from Stanford Healthcare

Thank you so much, this was much needed and I definitely need to practice these techniques!
