Megan Atashroo, MSN, RNFA, FNP-BC is the Director of Advanced Practice for Cardiovascular Health at Stanford Healthcare. She graduated with her Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree from the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing. She began working at Stanford in 2017 as a new graduate Advanced Practice Provider (APP). Her area of clinical practice is cardiac surgery, specializing in preoperative work up, critical care, and post-operative management. During her tenure at Stanford, she worked to implement the first in the nation CT Surgery APP Fellowship program, a program that has received national accreditation with distinction. She has been working as the Director of Advanced Practice for CVH, which includes CT Surgery, Cardiology, and Vascular Surgery service lines, for the last 2 years and also serves as a Co-Chair of the working parents Employee Resource Group. Megan is the founder of M.Atashroo LLC- a consulting company that helps healthcare institutions develop Model Line Healthcare Teams with Advanced Practice Providers.

Megan grew up in St. Louis Missouri and Omaha Nebraska. She met her husband, Dr. David Atashroo, at the University of Missouri when they were both students in the emergency department, before moving to the University of Kentucky where she served as a charge nurse in the Cardiac ICU. Starting her nurse practitioner career doing home assessment in San Jose, CA, Megan soon transitioned to Stanford as a nurse practitioner on the Cardiac Surgery floor. She now lives in Orinda Ca with her two children, Revy (4 years old) and Ranger (2 years old). In the thick of managing the needs of young children balanced against both parents' full time jobs, Megan is excited to share her experience with working parents, emerging professionals, and aspiring women leaders.
